Confidence & Self-Esteem
Hypnosis for speaking up in meetings
Say the thing you almost don't say.
This session works with an idea that remains unspoken as the meeting carries on.
It settles the nerves first, then spends its time rehearsing the moment you choose to speak and the sound of your own voice in the room. There is no script to learn, just the practice of letting the words out.
You sit in the chair and you know exactly what needs saying, but the moment passes and your mouth stays shut.
Afterwards you replay the gap in the conversation and wonder why you stayed quiet when you had the answer. This is about the thought you almost keep and the cost of letting it go unspoken.
What’s in it
A steady voice in the room, where the thought you almost keep to yourself becomes words that land.
Why do it
Speaking up is a state the mind rehearses, so each session makes the next meeting easier to step into.

Perfect use-case: Speaking Up in Meetings — hypnosis session
The moment to speak arrives, and the thought you had is already fading.
What you’ll hear in the Speaking Up in Meetings session
The session first relaxes the body and settles nerves, then rehearses the moment of speaking to make the act feel familiar and natural.
You know exactly what needs saying, yet the moment passes and your mouth stays shut
This session is for the thought you form but do not say, the one that stays in your throat while the meeting moves on, and it is time now to set that thought free
Imagine allowing that steady voice in the room to be your own, a voice that feels as natural as breathing
Your body begins to relax, releasing the old patterns of hesitation that have held you back for far too long
From this moment forward, you cultivate a deep sense of calm whenever you prepare to enter a meeting
You feel this warm confidence spreading through your chest, a grounding force that settles any tremor of nervous energy
Your shoulders release their tension, drifting down into a state of easy repose, knowing you are fully capable and prepared

Why this works — and what the research actually says
Group-level, not session-level: no study has tested this exact session, and we will not pretend otherwise. Every source below was opened and read on 2026-08-25 before it was quoted.
Why do it as hypnosis?
The hesitation happens before you are in the room, as a habit the mind follows without asking.
This works by having you practise speaking while nothing is at stake, repeating the act of saying the thing until it is no longer a surprise.
It does not change the meeting; it changes what you rehearse bringing into it.
Self-esteem: one good trial, in one specific group
Ninety-five women who had finished cancer treatment were randomly assigned either to eight weeks of group self-hypnosis and self-care, or to a waiting list.
Self-esteem rose in the hypnosis group and barely moved in the control group. It is a real result — and it is one study, in one population, where self-esteem was not the main thing being measured.
- 95 women who had completed cancer treatment, eight weekly sessions
- Self-esteem improved; the waiting-list group barely changed
- A secondary outcome, in a specific group — not the general public
Worth knowing: Self-esteem was a secondary outcome, not what the trial was designed to test. The participants were cancer survivors and overwhelmingly women, an imbalance the authors flag as unexpected.
They also note that "other late measurement times could have been useful to investigate the long-term evolution".
The exact wording and figures
Ninety-five women who had completed cancer treatment were randomised to group self-hypnosis and self-care, or to a wait-list.
Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale scores rose from 29.63 to 31.83 in the hypnosis group (d = 0.46, p < .001). The wait-list control group showed negligible change (d = 0.16, p = .857).
Published in Quality of Life Research. Included because it is a real randomised trial carrying a self-esteem measure, and hedged because of who was in it.

Three ways to say it
You do not have to force confidence; you can choose the voice that feels most possible for you right now and let it guide the practice.
Balanced
A warm, all-round session that settles the nerves and helps the thought you almost keep become words. The default.
A gentle, steadying hand that settles the nerves and helps the right words find their way out.
Future self
Picture the version of you who already speaks up with easy, grounded confidence in any room.
You picture the version of you who has already forgotten what hesitation in meetings feels like.
New identity
Step into being someone whose voice belongs in the room, with nothing to prove and nothing to hold back.
You step into being the person whose voice is simply another tool in the room, like a screen or a chair.
