The Loom
See your life as cloth on a frame, where the threads that looked like mistakes up close turn out to be the pattern.
The Loom sets up a large wooden frame and asks you to watch the threads crossing over each other to make a whole piece of cloth.
You look closely at the single strands that seemed like mistakes and notice how they fit the pattern. It is a session about looking at the same thing in a different way.
A length of cloth is held tight on a wooden frame and the shuttle moves back and forth across the width.
Threads that seemed like knots or errors up close turn into part of the pattern when you look at them from further away.
There is no need to fix anything here, only to watch the row grow longer and the fabric take shape.
What’s in it
See your life as a cloth on a loom, threads you can examine and understand.
Why do it
By focusing on the process of weaving, it shifts perspective and makes the familiar seem new.

Where it sits
Liminal places that carry their own rhythm: a night train, the deep ocean, one bell fading, the middle of a crossing.
Why going here does anything
The shuttle passes in one direction and then the other, a movement that is easy for the eyes to follow.
Watching the cloth form gives attention a single simple task, which keeps the mind from pulling in too many directions at once. It is a quiet way to see how the separate threads might actually fit together.
