Hypnosis for intuitive eating
Hunger and fullness become trustworthy guides again.
Intuitive Eating is a self-hypnosis session for letting go of food rules and returning to your body's signals.
It spends the middle of the session rehearsing a meal, checking in with hunger and fullness, and exploring cravings and comfort.
Later, it moves outward to how you think about movement and trust the signals that guide your day.
You stand in the kitchen after the day has ended and put something in your mouth because it is there, not because the body is asking for it. The packet is finished before the thought even arrives.
There is a gap between what the rules say and what actually happens, and filling that gap takes more energy than the eating itself.
What’s in it
A quiet way to hear your body's own hunger and fullness again, so eating feels easy and free of rules.
Why do it
When you can trust the steady signals your body sends, food stops being a fight, so a few calm minutes here gives the wisdom back to your body where it belongs.

Perfect use-case: Intuitive Eating — hypnosis session
Moments when food feels out of control, even when you know you're not hungry.
What you’ll hear in the Intuitive Eating session

Eating begins to feel easy and free of strict rules as you settle into this new way of being
You are letting go of the struggle, allowing a relaxed sense of peace to flow through you as you approach food with curiosity rather than conflict
Your body knows, and you are learning to hear its own quiet signals once more
There is a gentle power in paying attention, a deep connection forming between your mind and your physical self
You can feel it now, a soft awareness settling deep in your belly, waiting to be heard
- constant noise of rulesthe session frames rules as noise that can fall away, not something to fight

- body knows, and you are learningthe session points at a signal that already exists, but has been missed
Timeline: Start to Finish
The suggestion block rehearses a meal in detail, then shifts to cravings, movement, and broader self-trust. It builds inward focus and calm around food and other needs, without counting anything.
3 of the 4 stages are named techniques with a published origin, credited under each.

Why this works — and what the research actually says
Group-level, not session-level: no study has tested this exact session, and we will not pretend otherwise. Every source below was opened and read on 2026-08-25 before it was quoted.
Why do it as hypnosis?
You cannot think your way back to an instinct that works on its own. What you can do is stop crowding the signal out with other noise.
This uses that quiet space to rehearse the feeling of a full plate and a quiet stomach, in the present tense.
It does not add a new rule about what to eat; it simply repeats the practice of listening until the listening feels ordinary.
The closest study to what we actually sell — and it found nothing
Most hypnosis research studies a person in a room with a therapist. This one tested a 15-minute audio file, listened to nightly — which is almost exactly what a session here is.
Over three weeks the hypnosis group lost about two thirds of a kilogram and the placebo group lost none, and that gap was not statistically significant. Neither was the main thing the trial set out to measure.
- 46 people, a 15-minute audio file nightly for three weeks
- Hypnosis group −0.63 kg, placebo group 0.0 kg — not a significant difference
- The trial's own primary outcome also came out null
Worth knowing: The authors are direct about why this is not the last word. "The study's low sample size is one of its most significant limitations."
And "based on the actual achieved sample size, the achieved power is 49%" — roughly a coin-flip chance of detecting a real effect even if one existed.
They also note COVID-era recruitment problems, a predominantly educated female sample, and that it "does not generalize to other forms of hypnosis".
The exact wording and figures
In a randomised, double-blinded controlled trial, 46 participants listened nightly for three weeks to either a 15-minute audio self-hypnosis file or a structurally identical placebo file.
Mean weight change was -0.63 ± 0.43 kg in the hypnosis group against 0.0 ± 1.5 kg in the control group (p = 0.148, not significant).
The primary outcome, progression through Transtheoretical Model stages, was also not significant (X²(2,46) = 1.909, p = 0.580).
Published in PeerJ. Included because it is the closest published test of the format this app actually uses, and because a null result in the most relevant study is exactly the thing a reader deserves to see.

Three ways to say it
A quiet way to hear your body’s own hunger and fullness again, so eating feels easy and free of rules.
Balanced
Hear your body's true hunger, savor each bite, and stop at a gentle fullness. The default.
A gentle rehearsal of listening to hunger and fullness, bite by bite.
Future self
Picture the version of you who eats freely, guided from the inside by hunger and fullness.
The version of you who eats without rules, guided by body signals.
New identity
Step into being someone who trusts their body around food, with no rules and no struggle.
Stepping into trusting your body around food, without struggle.
Questions people ask about Intuitive Eating
Do I have to believe in this for it to work?
No. It’s about practising a quiet moment of listening, not about what you believe.
What if I fall asleep during it?
That’s fine. The session builds a habit over time, even if you drift off.
Does this tell me what to eat?
No. It’s not about rules—it’s about tuning into what your body is asking for.
How is this different from mindful eating?
It’s similar, but this focuses on rehearsing the moment until it feels ordinary.
Where it sits
Appetite, habit and body image, worked as behaviour rather than willpower.
Before you press play
Hypnosis is not for everyone. If you have epilepsy, a psychotic illness, or you are under psychiatric care, talk to your clinician before using this — here or anywhere.
