Cosmic & Transpersonal

The Music of the Spheres

Listen outward until everything from your own cells to the turning planets is heard as one long chord.

This journey expands your hearing outwards until the turning of planets and the motion of your own cells are heard as one long chord.

It spends its time listening to the cosmos as a single piece of music rather than separate sounds. You are asked only to stay with the sound as it gets bigger.

An expedition outwards where the universe contributes to a single chord. There is a sense of vastness and a focus on how everything turns together.

The session listens to the cosmos as one complete sound rather than a collection of separate parts.

What’s in it

An expedition outwards, where every sound and every turn in the cosmos contribute to a single chord.

Why do it

The vastness of space and the interconnectedness of all things provide a natural focus, guiding the mind to a state of expanded awareness.

Where this place comes from

The idea of cosmic music runs through many traditions, from Pythagoras’ musica universalis to descriptions in Sufi, Hindu and Daoist texts. They share an image of the universe as vibration rather than matter.

Guided imagery often uses music for focus, but rarely stretches its scale this far. Here the sound expands until all scales — body, earth, orbit — play as one.

Questions people ask

What if I can't hear anything?

The ‘hearing’ here is an inner attention. You need only follow the idea of sound expanding outward.

Will this make space feel frightening?

The journey treats vastness as harmony, not emptiness. You’re always anchored by the chord.

Is this real music or imagination?

The script asks you to attend as if to music. Both the hearing and the peace are real in their effects.

Do I need musical training?

No. The session uses music as a metaphor for connection, not a technique to analyze.

Where it sits

Starfields, light tunnels, inner universes, and the quiet space beyond a single self.

These go further than the calmer journeys. You stay in control the whole time, and you can stop any time by opening your eyes and breathing. New to this? The journeys below are a softer place to start.

Why going here does anything

It is hard to listen to two things at once, so the session gives you one very big sound to hold onto. When the mind follows a single chord out into the cosmos it stops turning over smaller lists and arguments.

The vastness offers a place for attention to settle without anything to steer.
